The weather is a funny thing… Sometimes a sunny day gets unexpectedly cloudy right before a shoot. As photographers, having no sun is a blessing and a curse: on the one hand, it makes shooting relatively easy because exposures are generally the same no matter where you go, which is kind of nice. On the other hand, not having the sun to work with is like taking a tool away from us and it tends to create a dramatically different “feel.” A cloudy day means that a shoot that you planned on being sunny and warm gets cooled down, which is not bad, just a little different.
But, just as the clouds take away the sun, the right kinds of clouds have been known to give some pretty spectacular sunsets. We think that all of these photos are the bees knees, but make sure you scroll to the bottom of this post to see some pretty amazing sunset photos from this Malibu Hills engagement session, shot by Loretta. 🙂
