It is no secret that Southern California has some amazing weather and, not surprisingly, it has a TON of wedding venues. What is surprising, however, is how very diverse Southern California’s wedding venues are. Many are exactly what you would expect from our relatively modern, beachy and golden brush covered state. But there are a handful of venues that magically teleport you to an entirely different part of the world in a very authentic way. Ewa and Chris’ Hummingbird Nest Ranch wedding reminded us that Simi Valley has one such venue.

Hummingbird Nest Ranch has a top area and a bottom area where couples can get married. Every time we get to shoot the bottom area (which is where Ewa and Chris decided to have their wedding), we feel like we are shooting a wedding at a beautifully landscaped mansion somewhere in Western Europe. The beautifully weathered brick and stone architecture just don’t seem Californian because, quite frankly, they look like they would not survive an earthquake! But, clearly, they have! 🙂 It is a unique and beautiful wedding venue and we hope that we will get to go back soon!
